Distribution Formats

The physical distribution of ambisonic recordings was at first limited to multitrack magnetic tape for B-format, and any stereo medium (LP, CD, etc) for UHJ Stereo.  The suggested use of FM radio to transmit three or even four channel UHJ signals was never put into practice.

In the modern world, computer files can be used to transfer arbitrary information, and so their use to carry ambisonic recordings in B-format is described here.
